Pokémon Champions Arriving in 2026

Pokémon Champions is coming in 2026 with cross-platform battles, fair recruitment systems, and the new Omnimaro mechanic. Discover all the details announced so far.

The wait is almost over! Pokémon Champions is officially arriving in 2026. Originally announced on February 27, 2025, this title promises to revolutionize online battles for franchise fans, taking the competitive experience to a new level of accessibility and strategy.

What is Pokémon Champions?

Pokémon Champions is a new video game focused almost exclusively on online battles, maintaining the classic mechanics that saga veterans already master. The goal is to offer a purely competitive experience without the entry barriers of traditional RPG games.

The game will feature various modes to suit every type of trainer:

  • Ranked Battles: To prove who is the best.
  • Casual Battles: To test strategies without pressure.
  • Private Rooms: For tournaments and matches with friends.

Additionally, players can choose between Single and Double Battle formats. One of the most important features is that the game will support Crossplay and will be available on multiple platforms:

  • Android
  • iOS
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo Switch 2

Team and Pokémon Management

Although the full roster has not been confirmed yet, crucial details have been revealed about how we will manage our teams.

Recruitment Systems

You can obtain Pokémon cards or units by transferring them from Pokémon HOME or recruiting them directly within the game through two main methods:

  1. Trial Recruitment (0 VP): Once a day, you can perform a free recruitment. You will be able to battle with this Pokémon immediately, ideal for testing new strategies at no cost.
  2. Normal Recruitment: To permanently add a Pokémon to your collection, you must use your Victory Points.

Training and Customization

The game will allow you to train your Pokémon using Victory Points (VP) to improve base stats like Attack and Defense. Furthermore, you will have the freedom to modify their Abilities and Moves to fit your strategy perfectly.

Important Note: Pokémon obtained through "Trial Recruitment" cannot be trained or modified until they are permanently recruited.

Victory Points (VP)

Victory Points will be the fundamental currency for progress. They are obtained exclusively by participating in Ranked Battles, and the amount received will depend on your results in the arena.

It is vital to highlight that VP cannot be purchased with real money. This decision ensures the game maintains a fair competitive environment where progress depends on skill and dedication, not your wallet.

New Mechanic: The Omnimaro

Finally, the developers have introduced the Omnimaro, a new tool available during battles. Protagonists will have this item which will allow, among other functions, activating Mega Evolution for Pokémon.

It has been suggested that the Omnimaro could receive more functionalities in the future, adding layers of depth to the battles we all know.
